Hey! I´m kinda new to the forum, i´m looking for some help, I want to get a new engine for a fourth generation 88 Civic, Does anyone know what engine series work for that civic? or does any civic engine do the trick? I´m all ears!!

By the Way, I think it´s an EF series lol the car belongs to a friend so I havent had the chance to see it up close

you could put a b16 in there but I believe you will need some additional items like wiring harness, ecu, mounts, etc.

might want to figure out if your engine right now is cable or hydro also, most likely cable.

88-91 civics / crx's and teg's are all cable tranny.

You will need to pick a swap that includes a cable tranny.

You can do a zc swap and use your existing d-series tranny.  (if you have an hf model i would discourage using the hf tranny and instead buying an si tranny)

Or you can do a bseries swap (swap includes the motor, axles, ecu, transmission, wiring harness).   LS, CRV, B16a, B18c1, B18c5 -  You will need bseries motor mounts, shift linkage, ecu and depending on the swap you will need to make some wiring changes.
